Vasco Coutinho
Founder & Lead Guide
Vasco Coutinho is the driving force behind Latitude 46’s philosophy of authentic, nature-led adventure. His journey began at age 12 in Ticino, where a self-taught, trial-and-error introduction to snowboarding instilled in him a deep respect for the learning process and the raw freedom of the mountains. By 18, he was teaching others, determined to make their path smoother than his own. This mission led him to earn Switzerland’s highest snowsports instructor certification, teaching in top resorts like Verbier, Saas-Fee, and Zermatt. After over a decade immersed in the Zermatt lifestyle—shaping snow parks, managing outdoor stores, and guiding—he expanded his horizon to the ocean. Starting in 2011, he mastered kitesurfing through the same lens of patience and progression, eventually organizing immersive expeditions along Brazil’s Northeast coast. Today, Vasco personally curates and guides every trip, blending 25 years of alpine expertise with deep local knowledge of Brazil’s culture and kitespots. For him, guiding is not just about logistics—it’s about creating a space where clients can disconnect from the noise, find their own rhythm, and experience the pure joy of flow, whether on a snowy ridge or a tropical lagoon.
